Produced by Drupal4Gov, Drupal GovCon has been a staple for the DMV local Drupal community for many years, and Five Jars was lucky enough to present at this conference for the first time this year. This event offered a wide range of topics from the power of authenticity in building lasting client relationships to discovery phase tips to high level Drupal mobile app solutions. Although the theme for Drupal GovCon is geared towards government organizations, there was much to gain across the board for Drupal users.
Highlights on Enhancing the Government Digital Presence
Extensive and diverse sessions were conducted within the walls of the University of Maryland. With many of our team members local to the DMV area, we found unique insight within the sessions of Drupal GovCon, focusing on various aspects of Drupal development, accessibility, content strategy, and more. We were able to attend sessions around the Drupal 7 end-of-life, the new Drupal Starshot, WCAG implementation, leveraging Azure OpenAI for content solutions, and so much more. Being immersed in this environment, our team left feeling inspired and empowered by the wealth of knowledge shared.
The atmosphere allowed in-depth conversations around practical skills and fresh perspectives for ongoing projects. This, coupled with the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, only enhanced our excitement to present at our session for Mobile App Development with Drupal.

Although this event was focused for government organizations, the overarching themes around security, accessibility, and cohesive user experience is echoed in all of the industries with whom we partner. As we create custom solutions for all of our partners, this event allowed us to gain current perspective in how federal organizations prioritize their goals and challenges. We’re pleased that our session was very well received with in-depth Q/A, and we felt that all-familiar satisfaction for giving back to the Drupal community.
